Home Health Aide (HHA)
Reports to: Administrator/Director of Nursing (if applicable) or Agency Administrator
The Home Health Aide provides compassionate, non-medical personal care and support to clients in their homes. HHAs assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), promote independence, ensure client safety, and provide companionship while maintaining the dignity and privacy of every individual.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Assist with toileting and incontinence care.
- Help clients transfer safely using proper body mechanics.
- Provide assistance with ambulation and mobility.
- Prepare light meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, dusting, vacuuming, and changing linens.
- Provide medication reminders (no medication administration).
- Offer companionship and emotional support.
- Escort clients to appointments and community outings when authorized.
- Observe and report changes in the client's condition to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation and care notes.
- Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies according to agency policy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Current Maryland Home Health Aide certification (if applicable).
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and transferring clients.
- Ability to work in various home environments.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Reports to: Administrator/Director of Nursing (if applicable) or Agency Administrator
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, non-medical personal care and support to clients in their homes under the direction of the Agency Administrator. CNAs assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), promote independence, ensure client safety, and provide companionship while maintaining the dignity and privacy of every individual.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene.
- Assist with toileting, incontinence care, and perineal care.
- Help clients transfer safely using proper body mechanics and gait belts.
- Provide assistance with ambulation, mobility, and range-of-motion exercises.
- Prepare light meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, and changing linens.
- Provide medication reminders (no medication administration).
- Monitor and document vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and respiration as assigned.
- Observe and report changes in the client's physical or mental condition to the supervisor.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients and families.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation and care notes.
- Follow infection control procedures, universal precautions, and agency policies.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies according to agency policy.
Qualifications
- Active Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

Personal Care Aide (PCA)
Reports to: Agency Administrator
The Personal Care Aide provides non-medical assistance to clients who need support with daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. PCAs provide personal assistance, companionship, and household support in accordance with the client's individualized care plan.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist clients with dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Assist with bathing and toileting as assigned.
- Help clients safely move around the home.
- Provide companionship and social interaction.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when appropriate.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Run errands and grocery shop when authorized.
- Provide transportation to appointments when approved.
- Remind clients to take medications (no medication administration).
- Encourage participation in daily activities.
- Observe and report any physical, emotional, or environmental concerns.
- Complete daily care documentation accurately.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Follow agency policies and infection prevention procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous caregiving experience preferred but not required.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Reliable transportation preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional.
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, push, pull, and assist clients with mobility.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
